Because most people think it's not the right time to list their house, the inventory is much lower. That means these serious buyers have fewer houses to choose from and the lack of competition means more money for you!
Everyone loves a decorated home. The holiday decorations make the house show better and make your house feel like a home the buyers can see themselves living in.
When January comes along, more houses will come on the market. The more the inventory goes up, the more options for buyers and less money for you.
The holidays bring out the emotions in people, so the more willing a buyer is to pay your price. It's a happy, cheery and emotional time, which works in your favor!
During the holidays, buyers have more time to look for a house than they do during a typical work week. They are able to use the time off to take advantage of the opportunity to look at more houses.
As a seller you have the ability to restrict showings. That means that during the week of Christmas, you can still have your house on the market but restrict showings for those days if need be. This gives you a huge advantage because buyers can still see your house on the market and inquire about it.
